Trying to pack the Jeep in a heavy rain isn’t much fun.

When the weather breaks, headed south for camping for the week, so g ird yourself for !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

we just had a dinky thunderstorm......dumped a lot of water for about 20 minutes....precisely not long enough to cool my house down any...aaand it was gone...then it went straight back to being sunny...

watching the puddles evaporate....little humid here now

looks like theres a couple more dinky thunderstorms coming

tho..using the puffymajig the doc gave me does kinda make me feel like a geriatric old fart

friday was rough...but thats coz my dumb ass went back to work instead of milking me breathing issues for the rest of the week....the shop is not a good place to be in a heatwave....

I enjoy rain camping, only when the rain shows up AFTER camp is setup and assuming it dries out before I break down camp. Just having rain while camping though is an adventure and can be enjoyable if prepared for it.

Nah, that's a perfect time for a Dutch oven! Assuming you have enough dry wood to get the fire going of course. One of my favorite steaks I've ever cooked was on a campfire while it was absolutely dumping. I just covered the pan and used the pan to cover the fire and kept it stocked full of a hell of a lot of wood burning like mad. It just had the perfect medium rare finish to it and nice and charred outside. I was soaking wet but it was so rewarding to eat that steak. Dutch oven is already sealed so you are good to go.

I’m sure the oven would be fine but I as a complete neophyte am not interested in learning under water.

I’ll be here for a week if I don’t get too bored. Plenty of time
